Here’s what’s coming to Netflix in December

A-Marriage-Story

‘Tis the season…. To get cosy and rain check yet another Christmas party. Stay in and chill out with a couple of new Netflix releases.

6th December

Marriage Story

Marriage Story Review

Adam Driver and Scarlett Johannson star in this emotional, heart-rending drama based on a true story. This film could follow in the footsteps of Roma being a streaming service Oscar hopeful. Marriage Story has been hotly anticipated thanks to its casting and understated modern love, or not, story credentials. It is set to be a real talking point.

12th December

Jack Whitehall: Christmas with my Father

Jack-Whitehall-Christmas-with-my-Father

At the other end of the emotional scale, Jack Whitehall is back with his grumpy yet hilarious dad. This show consists of Jack and his father hosting a variety show of celebrity guests and musical acts but it will be Jack and his dad’s bickering that really takes centre stage.

14th December

RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars Season 4

Season 4 of All Stars hits Netflix halfway through the month so get ready for more lewks, lip-syncing and sashay-awaying. Hot on the heels of The UK Drag Race, this will be the perfect antidote to any Ru Paul withdrawals you might be experiencing.

19th December

Jurassic World

Jurassic-World-2015

Raptors and genetically modified dinosaurs might not be the first thing that springs to mind when you think festive films but it will certainly keep you on the edge of your seat. The film is full of brilliant effects and exciting action scenes that will keep you hooked throughout the movie and while it’s not exactly the classic Spielberg work of art, it is certainly entertaining.

31st December

John Wick Chapter 3

John-Wick-Chapter-3

Everyone’s favourite nice guy, Keanu Reeves, is back to kick some serious butt. One of the best action franchises of recent years, John Wick is fast paced and full of adrenalin as well as being meticulously choreographed and stylishly excecuted. Not a bad film to start the new year off with!

La La Land

La-La-Land

The film that swept through the Oscars picking up award nominations like they were going out of fashion (though it rightly didn’t win best picture). LaLa Land is a stylised depiction of a sad and rocky relationship in Los Angeles. Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling are reunited for this film and their chemistry on screen is palpable.
