Films to Watch in 2020

Happy New Year campers. You know the score by now, we’re going to give you a list of some movies coming out, what it’s about, who’s in it, and a pithy summary that hopefully makes you laugh.

As always, these are subject to change because we know the landscape of cinema is ever-changing with titles, release dates and so on in flux until the film is literally on a DVD in your hands, but thus far, this is what we know will be the films released in 2020.

JANUARY

Plot: Two lighthouse keepers try to maintain their sanity while living on a remote and mysterious New England island in the 1890s.

Expect: Mind bending horror heavy on the bending of the mind.

 

QUEEN & SLIM

Starring: Daniel Kaluuya, Jodie Turner-Smith, Bokeem Woodbine, Chloe Sevigny, Flea, Indya Moore

Plot: A couple’s first date takes an unexpected turn when a police officer pulls them over.

Expect: A racially charged drama for the BlackLivesMatter crowd.

Plot: American security guard Richard Jewell saves thousands from an exploding bomb at the 1996 Olympics, but is vilified by journalists and the press who falsely report that he was a terrorist.

Expect: Eastwood back on form with a true story of mistaken identity.
