Rihanna’s Savage x Fenty Ready To Wear Collection at NYFW19 and How You Can Watch It

Last week saw Rihanna’s second Savage x Fenty fashion show at New York’s Women Spring/Summer Fashion Week. The show was held at the Barclay’s Centre in Brooklyn on Tuesday the 12th of September.

Attendees of the show were required to leave their phones in sealed bags, and so there are few official photos of the catwalk, as opposed to the floods of photos that are usually uploaded by fashion bloggers and other guests at the show.

British model-turned-actress, and good friend of Rihanna, Cara Delevingne attended the runway with actress girlfriend Ashley Benson, and returned to the runway, modelling a green dominatrix lace look.

Also in attendance on the red carpet was sisters Gigi and Bella Hadid, a glowing and pregnant Ashley Graham, model Slick Woods, and Halima Aden.

Despite being shrewd in secrecy, it remained of the most exclusive, and most talked about event of the season.  The venue was distorted into an 80s style film-like setting, with the use of neon pink and blue lights, and peep show-esque windows.

Laverne Cox, one of the stars from Netflix show Orange is The New Black walked the runway, as well as Fifth Harmony’s break out stat Normani also strutting catwalk.

Gigi Hadid Savage x Fenty

Gigi Hadid took to the stage at the NYFW19 Savage x Fenty show.

Unlike other fashion shows where they show the clothes and go, mostly due to NYFW’s tight schedule, there was an elaborate musical performance by not only Rihanna, but by DJ Khaled, Halsey, Migos, Big Sean, A$AP Ferg, Fat Joe, Faolous and Tierra Whack.

We have to wait until the 20th of September to see the looks shown at the show, but with the limited photos, we have seen the show has explored modern interpretations of the 1920s flapper girls. Pink lace bodysuits were accessorized with sunglasses and chokers. Bella Hadid walked down the runway in a matching set of canary yellow bra and panties, fit with suspenders, and a lace cape. Yes, a lace cape.

Rihanna has also smartly capitalised on Victoria’s Secret cancellation, and sold the show to Amazon Prime, and will be available to watch in more than 200 countries on the 20th of September.
